Born on February 13, 1982, in Rancho Cordova, California, to James and Lorena Ryan. From an early age, he was known for his big heart, steady nature, and unwavering loyalty—qualities that would define his life and the love he shared with those around him.
On May 21, 2005, Nathaniel married the love of his life, Jennifer, in Texarkana, Texas. Their marriage was a partnership built on devotion, humor, and resilience. Together they created a warm and joy-filled home, raising their children, Elliott and Olivia, who brought immeasurable pride and purpose to Nathaniel’s life.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Nathaniel served his country with honor and distinction. His commitment and bravery were reflected in the many commendations he received, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, and the prestigious Combat Action Medal. His service is a legacy of courage that will forever be remembered and deeply appreciated.
Nathaniel will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer; his children, Elliott and Olivia; his mother, Lorena, and father, Jim; his brothers, Kelly, Levi, Daniel, and Seth; his loyal “soul dog,” Piper Anne; and grand-cat, Hazel. Those who knew him will forever hold close his kindness, wit, quiet strength, and the steady comfort of his presence.
Burial services will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery in the spring of 2026. Further details will be shared as they become available.
Nathaniel’s legacy continues in the hearts of all who loved him. His memory remains a source of comfort, pride, and inspiration to those whose lives he touched.
For those who have reached out with condolences, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe has been created to support the future needs of Nathaniel’s wife and children: https://gofund.me/eb4a9e821
