Norma "Jean" was a wife, mother, friend, educator, and lifelong learner. Jean loved her family, nature, music, art, literature, and adventure. She visited 49 states and five continents, and never stopped looking for her next journey.
Jean is survived by her husband, Ken, daughter, Kat, and grandchildren Chase and Natalie.
Jean and Ken met at San Jose State and married in 1960. They spent 66 beautiful years together.
Jean loved to be outside, surrounded by the woods or the water, and camped for at least two months a year. She became a public school teacher, which was her passion. Jean enjoyed sharing her love of nature and culture with her students, taking her classes whale watching every year, and always bringing treasures from around the world back to her classroom. She touched many, many lives throughout her teaching career.
When Jean retired, she found joy in creating beautiful quilts and participating in a quilt group.
Friends and family from across the globe will miss Jean.
