Born on August 7, 1963, Palecia brought light, tenderness, and joy to the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. For the past 13 years, she was lovingly cared for by Maria Flores, whose devoted companionship became a source of daily comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
Today we come together to honor the beautiful spirit of Palecia. Since the first time I met Palecia, 13 years ago, I knew she was a great addition to our family. Palecia taught us to celebrate life’s simple pleasures and to express joy in every moment. She found delight in the details of life. She loved to look and smell good—delighting in painting her nails, especially in her favorite color, pink. A small act that brought her immense joy and confidence. For Palecia, it wasn’t just about looking good—it was a daily celebration of beauty and individuality.
She had a passion for making jewelry, loved coloring books, and often flipped through the pages of her favorite magazines with curiosity and enthusiasm. There were also tender moments that spoke to her nurturing side. The gentle care she showed when holding her baby dolls was a reflection of the loving heart within her. Today, as we remember Palecia, we hold dear these memories. Our house is not the same without you. Your presence, laughter, and gentle spirit will forever be missed.
Thank you, Palecia, for showing us that every color, every crafted piece, and every cherished moment contributes to the masterpiece of life.
Palecia is survived by her sister, Tanesha M. Ford; her beloved Aunt Denver Hayes and Uncle Larrie Hayes; her niece, Renicia Schneider; and her nephew, Gareth Schneider.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie L. Ford; her father, Harl M. Ford; her sister, Felicia Schneider; and her brother, Jules L. Ford.
Palecia’s life reminds us that we are only here for a short time. Let us enjoy each other while we are here. Let us love while we are here.
A private going home service for Palecia Ann Hayes will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
