Patricia is survived by her husband, Kenneth W. Hiser, of Colorado Springs; her daughter, Kimberly Swaim (Thomas), of El Paso County, Colorado and her sons, Scott Hiser of Colorado Springs, Michael Hiser, of Kentucky, and Dennis Hiser (Renee) of Colorado Springs. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Faylor, of Colorado Springs; her mother, Sylvia Forrest Faylor.
Patricia was born on April 25, 1933, in Peoria, Illinois to parents Sylvia and Thomas Faylor. Growing up in farm country near Peoria, Illinois, she graduated from Farmington Central High School. She subsequently was employed as a telephone operator when she met and later married Kenneth W. Hiser in Peoria on January 18, 1955. Kenneth’s Air Force career brought the couple on a 21-1/2-year adventure, which brought Patricia to Colorado in 1963. There, Patricia and Kenneth raised four children in Widefield. She helped raise her five grandchildren: Michael, Erin, Scott, Jesse and Jacob; and one great-grandchild, Scott.
Patricia was a loving mother and dedicated wife. She supported Girl Scouting and was leader of a Widefield Troop for several years. She was active along with her mother in the Presbyterian Church, the Fountain Valley Women’s Club and the Security Senior Center. An avid reader, Patricia also actively pursued quilting, knitting and other needle arts. Patricia loved her dogs, including Dachshunds, a St. Bernard, a Shih Tzu, and most recently two Pekingese. She enjoyed road and RV travel around the country, and attractions such as Branson, Missouri.
A committal service is scheduled for immediate family on January 25, at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs where she will be interred.
