

Patrick “Pat” Scott McHenry lost his courageous battle with cancer and died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 12, 2015 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 56. Pat was born on April 17, 1959 in Orrville, Ohio to John and Margaret (James) McHenry. He graduated from Dalton High School in 1977. After graduation Pat spent time traveling overseas with his brother Bruce to Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand. He then moved to Colorado where he lived in the mountains he loved. In 1990 he moved to Orlando, Florida and started a successful real estate business. In 2010 he married his soul mate Margaret (Cowherd) McHenry. In 2011 he moved back to Colorado Springs with his wife Margaret and continued working in real estate.
Pat was an accomplished musician playing both the guitar and the mandolin. He was also an accomplished singer. Pat was an extraordinary athlete who was passionate about skiing, golf, and tennis. Pat is survived by his wife Margaret McHenry of Colorado Springs and his step-son Nicholas Cowherd of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by his seven brothers and sisters, James (Carolyn) McHenry of Colorado Springs, Jack (Cathy) McHenry of Colorado Springs, Kenneth McHenry of Orrville, Ohio, Mary Ruth (Dale) Stamp of Colorado Springs, Margaret (John) Tschiegg of Wooster, Ohio, Bruce (Kathy) McHenry of Orlando, Florida, and AJ (Jeff) Neely of Seville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00PM, Monday, November 16 at the Swan and Law Funeral Home at 501 N. Cascade Avenue with a celebration of life reception to follow from 3:00-6:00PM at the Country Club of Colorado 125 Clubhouse Drive. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Pat’s life.
