

Raymond Cox Jr, age 60 passed away on Good Friday, April 14, 2017.
Raymond was born Oct 26, 1956 in El Paso County, CO to Raymon and Luzie Cox. He graduated from Mitchell High School in 1974. Shortly after graduating, he moved to San Diego, California and attended college with a major in Environmental Control. He married his high school sweetheart Rita Espinoza, wife of 19 years.
In 1989, Raymond and family moved back to Colorado Springs. After a career as a Maintenance/Engineering Tech, he went back to college and earned a Bachelor’s of Arts from CSU Pueblo. He was looking forward to starting a new career, and had a job lined up as a counselor as early as the summer of 2017.
Raymond was an avid angler who enjoyed fishing in the ocean, Salton Sea, and the many lakes of Colorado. He was a die-hard Bronco fan who attended as many games as possible and always mentioned football season was his favorite time of year. Always by his side was his loyal companion Christmas, a dog who attended all of his family functions.
Raymond will forever be missed and is survived by his son Raymond Cox III and his son’s wife Tataina Cox. His grandsons Isaac, Stacey, and Raymond Kaizer Cox IV. His sisters Jenny Deloatch, Durthy Washington, and Novella Cox.
Services will be held on Friday, May 5 at 3:00PM at Memorial Gardens 3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910.
