Renate worked as a bakery sales associate for 16 years with Continental Pastries. She was a member of the Alpenland German/American Club and sustained a lifelong friendship with her childhood friend, Christa, who lives in Germany. She had a passion for gardening, her cats, skiing, train trips through the mountains, and collecting pictures and ceramics. She loved talking to people everywhere she went. She especially loved children.
Renate is survived by her sons Eric and Dennis, her daughter Patricia, and her son-in-law Gary.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm on April 18, 2019 at Swan Law Funeral Directors. A private burial will be held on April 19, 2019 at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
Flowers can be sent to Swan Law Funeral Home or donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Renate’s name to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region or Disabled American Veterans of America.
