

Richard Felix Dalby, aged 74, passed away at home in Colorado Springs, CO. on December 26, 2014 after being diagnosed with cancer in late August. He is survived by sister Eileen Whittemore (Earl) of Saucier, MS; daughter Ruth Ellen King (John), Steve (23), Melissa (19), Scott (17), Katherine (13); son Richard Andrew (Heather), Archer (12), Richard Steele (10), Justice (8), Sage (6), Granite (4); son Peter (Jennifer), Penelope (in utero).
Richard was born June 29, 1940 in Battle Creek, IA to Richard Julius and Mary Isabelle (Nielsen). He graduated from Wayne State Teacher College in Wayne, NE and received a Master’s in Library Science from the University of Denver in Denver, CO. He educated two generations of Colorado children predominantly at Flood Middle School in Englewood, CO; Palmer High School and Emerson Middle School in Colorado Springs, CO. He mowed lawns for 50 years and built the finest RV storage lot in Colorado Springs. He enjoyed ballroom and folk dancing and was a member of Masonic Lodge 76.
Services will be held Wednesday, January 21 at 10 a.m. at Woodmen Valley Chapel (Stone Chapel) 290 E. Woodmen Rd. Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Donations may be sent in memory of Richard Dalby to the Woodmen Valley Chapel Men’s Ministry.
