Bobby was born to Larry & Marsha Keese on June 24, 1968 in Colorado Springs, CO. and a graduate of Falcon High School, class of 1986.
Bobby and Cynthia were married on September 4, 1992 in Colorado Springs, CO. Together they have two children, and three grandchildren.
Bobby joined the Colorado Springs Fire Department in May of 1993. After more than 30 years of service, at the end of his life and career he was a Driver/Engineer of Engine 22 in North Colorado Springs. During his time of service in the fire department, he was a recipient of many awards, and most recently, he was the first recipient of the Cary Sloan Excellence in Mentorship Award. Bobby has trained and mentored several drivers within the department. From the words of fire chief Randy Royal, “He was an excellent driver, who poured his knowledge and experience into others while he enthusiastically coached and mentored them. I would say almost every driver on the job has either directly or indirectly been impacted by his passion for the fire apparatus driving profession…”
Bobby was a proud member of the fire department, but he also had a deep passion for the western and rodeo lifestyle. Bobby began rodeoing at a young age, competing in Little Britches. He continued long into his adult life team roping with family and friends. Bobby also loved working cattle with his brother and their friends. Bobby was a sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and camping. His family have strong and cherished memories of family vacations to South Dakota and Branson, Missouri.
Bobby had a love for sports, and coached his son, Ryan, in football and basketball. Bobby supported his daughter, Mikaela, in her competitive dance career, also. Later on in life, he was blessed with three grandchildren who instantly became his entire world. Avery and her papa loved to play Bluey doctor, and truly any game she wanted for hours on end, and take care of the animals in the barn. Twins Stetson & Macie loved snuggling with him every chance they got in the short time they had with him.
Bobby is survived by the love of his life, Cynthia, children Mikaela (Riley) Copeland of Calhan, CO, son Ryan (Grace) Keese of Florissant, CO, grandchildren Avery, Stetson, and Macie Copeland, parents Larry & Marsha (Dickinson) Keese of Peyton, CO, brother Mark (Melissa) Keese of Calhan, CO, sister Debby (Jim) Hammack of Mead, CO, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Tommy “Hap” & Ruth Keese, and Marshall & Doris Dickinson.
