He was preceded in death by his mother Elena Maria and father, Joe Romitti; brother Rudy; sisters Clara Beltico, Ada Radosevich, and Lina Biondi; stepdaughter Robbyn Baker; niece Helen Hipshire; and nephew John Beltico.
He is survived by his wife, Nina, stepson Chris E. Baker, and grandchildren, Ryan Baker, Matthew Baker, and Hailey Baker, several nieces and nephews, church family at Heartsong Church, and numerous friends.
Robert first came to Colorado when he played accordion in the Jimmy Tucker Orchestra (out of Kansas City), and fell in love with the area. He came to Colorado to live with Mama and Papa Romitti in 1956 to open the Roman Villa Restaurant in Palmer Lake. A few years later, he opened the Villa VIII Restaurant (now the Peppertree).
After the sale of the Villa VIII in 1984, Robert semi-retired and he and Nina opened a small home-based transcription business in 1984 (when he wasn’t playing golf until a few years ago when his health began to fail). Golf was a passion for Robert and he played mostly at Patty Jewett Course.
Robert loved the Lord and attended Heartsong Church. He served the Lord as best he could. He especially loved the monthly church potlucks. Robert and his family held a private service at the family mausoleum at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are invited to a celebration of life with potluck following at Heartsong Church (5660 North Academy Blvd. – near Bally’s and behind Taco Bell) on March 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Come and bring a dish to share. Join the celebration that Robert wanted on his passing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Heartsong Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his memory.
