Ruby married Elbert Z. DeLong in 1946 in Brush, Colorado where they raised six children. Elbert preceded her in death in 1979.
She retired from Penrose Hospital in food service after many years of dedicated service. Hobbies included quilting, reading, Bible study and especially crafts.
Survivors included six children and their spouses; Elbert DeLong; Raymond (Phyllis) DeLong, Ronnie (Cheryl) DeLong, Nancy (Bill) Teeter, Judy (Gary) Grafft, Carolyn (Richard) Church; 63 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends in the Calhan area.
A graveside inurnment will take place on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs. A reception will follow in Calhan.
