

He was employed as a chef for Ramada Inn, Four Seasons Hotel and also worked with his sister Lydia in the family restaurant before retiring.
Sam loved spending time with his entire family and talking about growing up as a kid in Colorado Springs. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He was born May 6, 1932 in Colorado Springs to Primitivo and Paula Vallejo Hernandez. Sam was married to Raquel Mercedes Salazar on March 28, 1959. Raquel preceded him in death, along with his parents, brother Anthony Vallejo, brother Joseph Vallejo and his grandson David Samuel Vallejo-Moore.
He is survived by his daughter Sarah Gonzales (Robert) and his son Gregory Vallejo, his grandchildren, Gregory Samuel and Katie Vallejo, Brittany Vallejo-Moore, Jasmine Vallejo-Moore, Robert Gonzales Jr., John and Mimi Gonzales, Samantha Gonzales and Veronica Orosco. Sam's great-grandchildren, Nadia Vallejo, Lucas Vallejo, Joey Gomez IV, Xavier Gonzales and Emma Gonzales. His siblings, brothers Angel Vallejo (Celia) of Mexico, Manuel Vallejo (Becky), Benjamin Vallejo (Marilyn), Johnny Vallejo (Marvene) and David Vallejo (Gloria), sisters Tillie Samsel and Lydia Martinez (Marty). Sam also has many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral, 22 W. Kiowa Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 on February 10, 2015. 9:00 AM for the viewing, 9:30 AM, Rosary, 10:00 am Mass and burial following at Evergreen Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Reception to follow at V.F.W. Post 4051, 430 E. Pikes Peak Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
