Born in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Kenneth Carpenter and Ruth (Berryman) Carpenter. Sarah and husband Michael moved there family to Colorado Springs in 1982. Sarah passed away peacefully in her home on July 6, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. She was 73 years young. She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Michael Pecora. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (John)Stafford, Melissa (John) DuPont, 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Barbara Flurchick of NJ and Mary (Kevin) Barney of FL., 2 nieces, Tee (Joey Aviles) of NY, Sonyja Kithcart, 1 nephew TJ (Kim) Flurchick of NJ. Sarah worked most of her life, from Sous Chef to Machine Operator. She would tell you though that her greatest job was that of being a nana to all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother and friend to many in our community. She was a baseball fan, especially of the Yankees. She shared her passion for motorcycles with her husband, though gardening is where she found solace. Reading and gardening were a favorite pastime of hers. Her hobbies ranged from baking, gardening, reading, crocheting and she enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, Sarah devoted much of her time to the church and Ladies Auxiliary, where she volunteered when it was needed. She was an avid supporter of Wounded Warriors, Law enforcement as well as our active Military and all Military Vets. She often donated to the ASPCA. Sarah made sure to live her life to the fullest, never holding back. She certainly left her mark on this world. She will be missed greatly by us all.
