Shaun Rylee McClelland

Shaun is survived by his parents Robert & Kathleen McClelland of Colorado Springs, brother Corey McClelland of Pierre S.D., grandmothers Barbara Lampman and Marita McClelland of Colorado Springs, and grandfather Arthur Reynolds of Pueblo CO. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Shaun was born in Colorado Springs on December 14th, 1995. He graduated from James Irwin Charter High School in 2014 earning the school’s Founder Award. Shaun also received the honor of being on the Honor Roll, and being on the Dean's List, and receiving an Air Force Scholarship. At the same time Shaun was a cadet of the Colorado Wing Civil Air Patrol at Peterson Field where he clocked enough flight hours to earn him the Wright Brothers Certificate. During the summer months he enjoyed his employment at The Airplane Restaurant. He went on to attend South Dakota State University and was awarded an ROTC scholarship for his pursuit in business accounting and finance and attained the rank of Wing Commander. Shaun was a leader of his peers in High School and College.

Shaun was a warm caring person always putting others before himself. His knowledge and organizational skills were often called upon by his classmates in need. He loved baseball from the time he could hold the bat and played little league for the Twins. His infectious smile will always kindle warm memories of him. Shaun had a respectful gentleness which was admired and shall be remembered by us all.

A funeral is scheduled for 10a.m., Friday November 17th at New Life Church. Condolences can be expressed if needed at the Swan Law Colorado Springs Website. The family would like to thank the Student Affairs Office, AFROTC Det 780, Residence Halls Brown and Young of South Dakota State University and many others for their love and support during our loss. All are welcome to come and celebrate Shaun’s Life.
