Shirleymae Cottrill

Shirleymae was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and her son, Daniel Cottrill. She is survived by her Husband of 67 years, Eugene Cottrill, Jr and 4 daughters (and husbands): Christy Shelly (Blaine Shelly), Suzy Murphy (Kent Murphy), Michele Nielsen (Scott Nielsen), and Regina Seeley (Preston Seeley).

Shirleymae was a proud and loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

To some, she was known in her community as Co-Owner of Flowers-To-Go in Colorado Springs, alongside her husband Gene Cottrill. She was also a long -time Certified Medical Assistant, Clinical. Working with multiple doctors in various medical facilities, and Hospital Emergency Rooms, both in Colorado and Ohio.

As a life-long faithful believer and follower of Jesus Christ, one of Shirleymae’s favorite sayings was “Take it to the Lord in prayer.” Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

A Celebration of Life for Shirleymae will be held Friday, August 8, 2025 at 11:00am at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery.
