
Stanley Elmer Hill was born in Tomah, Wisconsin on January 22, 1923 to Gertrude Hill and Forrest Whisler. Stan graduated from Tomah High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. After his service to his country, he married the love of his life, Eldora Irene Hoefs. They were married for 64 years. They lived in Minnesota, Texas and Virginia before settling in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1964. Stan worked for Civil Service stationed at Fort Carson until his retirement in 1978. He was very devoted to his church, serving for many years. Stan enjoyed golf, bowling, sports and family activities.
Stan was a loving person, always quiet spoken and slow to anger. He was always honest and very thoughtful. He had a dry sense of humor and was an example as to how to live a good life. Stan always practiced what he preached. He will be remembered and loved by all that knew him. What a great man he was.
Stan is left behind by his wife, Eldora; children, John Hill, James Hill and Lisa (Greg) Moody; grandchildren, Jeremy (Carolyn), Jessica, Corissa, Kristen (Barry), Mackenzie, Jesse, and Clayton. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80913. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
