Born to Boris and Taisiya Tsarenko on Friday, October 5th, 1951, in Georgia in the USSR. Vera was the third oldest of ten children. She was the beloved mother of Hellen Overkill, Timofey Karpets, and Olesya Kayton, and sister to Tishchenko Tatyana Borisovna, Tsarenko Vladimir Borisovich, Tsarenko Mikhail Borisovich, Kornienko Galina Borisovna, Shapovalova Natalya Borisovna, Savelyeva Mariya Borisovna, Tsarenko Pavel Borisovich, Gritsai Dina Borisovna, and Tsarenko Liya Borisovna; She loved and adored her grandchildren: Benjamyn, Olyver, Logan, Tidus, Charlotte, Saylah, Timothy, and Gideon.
Growing up as one of ten children, Vera learned so much and became a powerhouse of a woman. She was able to do everything we could imagine—from making the best borscht and fried potatoes to building fences. She loved gardening, and our earliest memories are of her surrounded by the vibrant greenery that flourished under her care.
Life's hardships taught her the grace of quiet strength. Her calm, observant nature held a wisdom that came from deep understanding. She knew things about how you were doing before you even knew it yourself. Oftentimes she would call and ask what happened, because she just knew.
And boy, did she love fishing! She caught more fish than anyone, just about every time. She had the biggest smile when she fished and was always willing to teach her grandbabies all the tricks of the trade.
She had a love-hate relationship with painting. She loved to paint, but she always said that her paintings would never compare with the beauty of God's design. She was always taking pictures of nature so that she could paint them and she did.
In her last days, the verse from Isaiah 40:8 was a sweet theme for her love for Jesus and his word: "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."
Her awe of God and nature was so contagious. Every sunset and every flower was rejoiced over, and she praised the Father in Heaven when we were together.
She lived a quiet and gentle life, loving deeply even when she was in pain. In her last months, she kept saying to her daughters, "I've never been so loved in my life." Her nearness to death brought so much healing to her heart and ours. We love her dearly, and everything reminds us of her. We take comfort in knowing that she is in no pain and is called "Beloved" by her Father and our one true Bridegroom, Jesus, in heaven.
