

She graduated in 1949 from Littleton High School in Littleton, CO. Her first job shortly out of High School was clerk-typist for Colorado State Public Welfare in Arapahoe County.
When she was young, Ginny was active in 4-H Food and Clothing. She was a member of the Grandview Grange. She also received a certificate for superior ability in Commercial Penmanship in November, 1949.
She met and later married Rudolf Herbert Otto Beckmann on April 1st, 1955. To this union was born Mary Ann Beckmann-Farris, Diane Marjorie Beckmann-Mason, Susanne Irene Beckmann-Tafoya, and Theodore Herbert Beckmann.
Virginia and Rudy divorced on February 16th, 1972. They remarried on August 6th, 1978 in Deer Trail, CO and again divorced July 5th, 1984.
She met and later married Carl Edgar Bruer on December 31st, 1985 in Denver, CO, where she was working as a secretary for the National Farmers Union in the Claims Department. She retired there in 2002.
Virginia and Ed were active in the Army First Cavalry Association and the V.F.W. She was a president in the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary.
She is survived by daughter Mary Ann Farris and husband Jeff, daughter Susanne Tafoya, son Theodore Beckmann and wife Judy. Followed by 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Carl Bruer, brother David Baerresen, sister Nancy Hollingsworth, and daughter Diane Mason.
A Memorial Service will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, US, on May 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a Reception at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, US, on May 26, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
