William “Bill” Barbier, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on October 23, 2015. Bill was born in Southington, Connecticut on March 22, 1935, and married Mary Ann, in November of 1957.
Bill joined the Air Force in 1957 and moved to Colorado Springs in 1959 as a percussionist in the NORAD Band, then was transferred to the USAF Academy Band in 1962. Senior Master Sergeant Barbier retired in 1983 from the Air Force after 26 years of service.
When he wasn’t playing the drums or piano, Bill enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for their home. He loved spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann, his children Catherine (Scott) Gruber, Scott (Diane) Barbier, and Sharon (Jay) Quiring, grandchildren Matthew (Jordan) Gruber, Nicholas Gruber, Melissa (Bobby) Scott, and Kristina Barbier, and great-grandchildren Savannah, Drake, and Adalind.
He will be truly missed.
