William JD McGovern

He was the first born child to Joseph W. and Margareta McGovern. His father preceded him in death. He was born September 30th, 1957 in Munich, Germany. William loved being an Air Force Military Brat. He lived in Germany, England, South Dakota, Oklahoma, New Jersey and Florida. He has lived in Colorado Springs since 1974. William went to Adam State & UNC Colleges. He worked as an IT Tech for Digital, and 16 years for Pikes Peak Community College until he had to take medical retirement in 2014.

William had been ill since the age of 16. He never let that hold him back; he lived life to the fullest. He rode the countryside on his beloved Harley to see as much of the United States that he could. He saw 48 states with Florida being his most beloved state.

He is survived by his mother Margareta and his sister Diana Ballinger, brother-in-law Mark Ballinger, nephew Brandon Ballinger and numerous friends and extended family.

A visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday July 22, 2022 at Swan Law Funeral Directors. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
