

William (Bill) Murphy Sr. passed away in his home in Colorado Springs, CO on June 26, 2010. Bill was born in South Plainfield, NJ on May 26, 1949. He always lived his life to the fullest. His motto, “Time is precious, waste it wisely.”
You could always find him either on the side of a mountain blaring his music in his Jeep or in the backyard building his garden railroad. He had many loves in life, to name a few, his children & grandchildren, music, photography and of course trains. Most special and cherished was his beautiful wife Margaret (Maggie) Murphy, who he has been married to for 34 years.
Bill served his country in the US Air Force and eventually made his permanent home in Colorado Springs in 1992. He is preceded in life by his father Edward Murphy. He is survived by his mother Jane Carone and wife Margaret Murphy; brothers Michael, Tommy, Jimmy, Danny; sisters Lynn, Susie, Barbara; Children Angela, William Jr. (wife, Heidi), Bryan (wife, Terre), Edward (wife, Lindsey), and Kevin; grandchildren Christopher, Codi, Tyler, Kayla, Bryce, Jacob, Paige & Piper.
Bill has left behind many friends. He will be loved and missed.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Swan-Law Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Swan-Law Cascade Chapel.
