Bill was born at Waco, TX. He served 21 years in the US Air Force also working as a projectionist and stage hand at various theaters and stage productions throughout the Colorado Springs area. In the past several years, he often volunteered at District 11 elementary schools.
He is survived by two children, June (Murel) McGrath, and Bill (Penny) Stanford, daughter-in-law Rose Goure, grandchildren Joshua, Patrick, Katie, Jennie, and Kim, and great-grandchildren Lucy, Brielle, Shelby, and Kelsea. He was preceded in death by his wife Viola and son Lewis.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 1 at the Lehmberg Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 420 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs, CO.
A reception will follow at the church in the parlor.
A cemetery service with military honors will follow at 2:30 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area B, Denver CO.
