William Eugene Stedman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, went home to heaven on June 28, 2025. He is deeply missed by his wife, Carrie, his daughters, Beth and Becca, sons-in-law, John and Jacob, and his cherished grandsons, William, Benjamin, and Isaac.
Born in Los Angeles to Eugene and Elizabeth Stedman, Bill moved to White Plains, New York as a young child. He earned his undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland and later completed his MBA at Pace University. Bill spent his career as an accountant, and even after "retirement," he continued working part-time in various roles. One of his greatest joys, however, was his other “job”—being a devoted TCA Titans fan. He could often be found in the stands cheering on the soccer, volleyball, and basketball teams. For 24 years, he faithfully supported Carrie and her students, never missing a choir concert or musical performance.
Bill was known for his kind and compassionate spirit. He generously gave his time and talents to serve others, preparing tax returns for overseas missionaries, volunteering as a firefighter, and filling numerous roles in the church. He was a devoted son-in-law, lovingly caring for his father-in-law every day for many years. A friend to everyone he met, Bill was a great listener, a faithful prayer warrior, and someone who always followed up to see how people were doing. He cared deeply for each person in his family, serving each one with selfless love.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, Bill always had a book in hand—whether in a waiting room or during commercial breaks. With a mischievous twinkle in his eye, he brought humor to every conversation. His playful spirit and joyful heart kept him young until the very end.
A memorial service will be held on July 8th, 2025 at 3 pm at Memorial Gardens as we celebrate Bill’s life and legacy.
