To my dear mother. You were the one. Your dream was to be a teacher in the arts. Instead, you were a homemaker that taught your children adventure, through knowledge and the spatial talents of visual art. My brother viewed the world through a lens, capturing beauty in rare, perfect moments. I was a practitioner of tiny ink dots into stippled art. We both learned to love all creatures big and small. You taught us to value simple things in life, nature and love, of water. You gave me tools to survive in the wilderness of our world. "To the Child in love with maps and pictures."* Indelibly imprinted. This mark aided in efforts to expand a national monument and bring so much more.
My love will always be with you. You are free to fly.
