

Betty accepted Christ and baptized at an early age. Her unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father, is the foundation upon which she's built in her life.
Upon relocating to San Bernardino, California, she joined Temple Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Senior Usher Board. She would later unite with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Choir and Senior Usher Board. Her love for the Lord continued as she would attend in fellowship with 16th Street Church serving on the Deaconess Board until her declining health.
Betty was employed with the San Bernardino County Public Health Department as a Public Health Nurse for thirty plus years. After retirement, she enjoyed being a foster parent providing her home with love, guardianship and care for many children in need.
She was a proud mom, who loved and supported her children. Betty enjoyed sewing, cooking and coordinating successful fundraisers for the community (schools, churches and non-profit organizations) in which she lived.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory: Children, Rosemary Wilson-Melton, Garvey C. Diggs, Tina C. DeBerry, Gary E. Stewart, Monica M. Stewart-Cobb (Chuck), Dr. Monte M. Stewart (Yessica) and Donald A. Stewart.
Brother: Thomas Jackson, New Orleans, Louisiana.
A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, a very special friendship of fifty plus years, Gladys Henderson-Powell and many other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by Major Stewart, Rosy J. Jackson, Mary E. Riley and Willie Stewart.
