She was deeply loved by her family and friends.
Betty is survived by three daughters, Beth Kindt, Diana Hamil and Melinda Wright; Son-in-laws Carlos Montes, Gary Hoff and Bob Wright. She has 8 adoring grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Tommy Frisbee and sister-in-law Joann Visbal.
Betty became a Christian when she was 15, attending the Nazarene Church where she has worshiped since that day. She asked that in this commentary it is noted that her relationship with God was the most important one in her life… and asked to include this quote, "Some day you will read in the paper that Betty is dead. Don't you believe a word of it. At that moment I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all…out of this old tenement into a house that is immortal; a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint, a body fashioned like unto his glorious body… that which is born of the flesh may die. That which is born of the Spirit will live forever." [DL Moody].
Betty was born and raised in Southern California. Her career began after high school when she worked in a bank. She was married at 21 to Jno and raised four daughters. Later in her life she went to college and received a nursing degree at age 43. She served as a registered nurse for 22 years in home health and hospice support. Her skills in caregiving extended to everyone. When she retired from nursing Betty [and Jno] joined the Red Cross and for many years provided community and national support in disaster situations. She has been in parades, received awards, traveled the world and enjoyed many hours on Hawaiian beaches. Her life was joyous and rewarding.
Jno and Betty were married 69 years until his death in 2021. Betty will be as deeply missed as Jno has been. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jno, daughter Darlene Hoff and infant great-grandsons Hadley and Nolan.
If you would like to make a donation in Betty's name feel free to send a note to The Bridge Church of the Nazarene in Bloomington which was a source of inspiration for many years. Or to the Red Cross which was seen firsthand to be a vital service to the country.
