He was born on February 26, 1926 in San Bernardino to Erasmo and Idella Macias, one of ten children. He grew up in the San Bernardino/Colton area and attended Colton High School. When World War ll broke out, he left school and enlisted in the U.S. Army. His unit was sent to Europe where he participated in many battles including being part of the Battle of the Bulge. In 1947 he married Georgia Nell Tipton and they were married over 58 years until her death in 2006.
Bill is survived by his sons Bill Macias, Jr. of Colton and Dennis (Barbara) Macias of Redlands; daughters Sally (Yeager) Macias of Solano Beach and Bernardine Morales (Frank) of Riverside. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren
He retired from the Teamsters union.
Graveside service will be held at 1:01pm, staging area #5 on Monday, August 20, 2016 at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, CA
