Conrado was born to Teodoro Lucio and Maria Antonia Lopez Lucio in Brownsville, Texas on December 13, 1932. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Daniel David Lucio, seven brothers: Santana, Daniel, Teodoro, Samuel, Eduardo, Luis, and Jesus and, his three sisters: Beatriz, Aurora, and Eva.
Sharing in grief and forever cherishing his memory are his beloved wife, Emma Enedina Espinosa Lucio of 63 years of marriage; his children, David Conrad (Candy) Lucio and Linda Louise (Joe) Lucio four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lucio joined the United States Air Force on December 20, 1951 and proudly served with distinction for 22 years. He is a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His Personnel Operations expertise and contributions were key to USAF initiatives in Europe and at Strategic Air Command Headquarters. He was honored with Meritorious Service and Air Force Commendation Medals. He retired on March 1, 1974 having earned the rank of Master Sergeant.
Mr. Lucio then found employment in the US Postal Service at the San Bernardino Central Mail Processing Center. He retired from the US Postal Service October 12, 1994 with 20 years of service.
Mr. Lucio was commended by The Senate of the State of Texas, 85th Legislature, for his exceptional 42 years of public service, S.R.772.
Conrado was an avid golfer and claimed the unique accomplishment of having made two “hole in ones” on the same hole, the 200 yard 17th at Riverside Golf Course.
Conrado also enjoyed fishing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan!
Above all, Conrado was a family man. He cherished his wife Emma, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as his extended families in California and Texas.
Conrado’s extended family went beyond those related to him by blood. It extended to those fortunate enough to call him friend. Those people saw past his, sometimes intimidating, Air Force First Sergeant exterior to see the real man, the man with a big and generous heart. They saw a man with a tremendous sense of humor. They saw a fierce advocate for those less fortunate. They saw a good man who truly cared about them.
