Cristina worked for a government office in Mexicali as a secretary until December of 1959. She had several adventures while working there, including getting a pen pal and falling in love with her one and only “viejo” Robert.
Cristina and Robert married December 19, 1959, and lived in San Bernardino for 65 years raising their 4 boys. During the early years, they travelled for Robert’s work. Cristina and the family travelled to New York, Colorado, Washington and Utah.
Cristina had many hobbies. She was always crafty and creative, loved to paint and had an amazing ability to create and design things. She became a business woman, opened an arts and crafts store and was able to teach many people how to make her creations from macrame to mouse magnets. She enjoyed gardening and had chickens for many years, she shared the bounty of harvest with family and friends. Cumbia was a part of her life. She went to dances in Mexicali before marrying Robert and continued to enjoy dancing her entire life. When the music started she would start dancing and encourage others to dance with her.
Thank you for being a part of her life.
Her laugh and sense of humor will be remembered and she will be deeply missed by family and friends.
