

Daniel T. Soso, 87, of Colton, California, was called to heaven peacefully at home on April 9, 2024. He is survived by his daughter Connie (Perry) Goines, son Thomas Soso, and granddaughter Stevie (James) Seibert-Desjarlais. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Beverly on December 14, 2023.
Daniel was born in the Colton hospital on September 9,1936, the only son of Todor Soso of Yugoslavia, and Mary (Chiatovich) of Goldfield, NV. He attended Colton schools until he graduated from Colton High School in 1954. He went on to have a lifelong career in the steel industry. He started at Kaiser Steel Corporation in 1955 and completed the Machinist Apprenticeship Program in 1962. He worked and promoted in various department positions until the company sold in 1984. Daniel then joined California Steel Industries, where he worked until his retirement as a Purchaser in 2003.
In addition to his career, Daniel served in the Army National Guard from 1962 through 1968. Later in his life, he became a dedicated member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Redlands, CA.
Daniel had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed all things outdoors, and favorite hobbies included camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and restoring muscle cars. In the 50’s & 60’s, he was a member of the Colton Antiques car club. He enjoyed tending to the walnut grove his parents owned in rural Colton from 1929-1978.
A Funeral Service will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church 1505 So. Ford St. Redlands, CA. on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 am. Montecito Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Colton, CA, is assisting with the arrangements.
