Momma Bills was warm, kind hearted, funny, and always caring for others. Growing up, I was good friends with her youngest son, Casen. We would have sleepovers and play video games and be “rambunctious boys”.  Momma Bills always had a way to keep us in line without raising her voice, but by engaging our hearts. She’d throw a joke or two into the mix to get everyone laughing. Her laugh was infectious. This is the Momma Bills I knew before the health  difficulties occurred later in life. 

My heart goes out to the family that I know are hurting now,  May Momma Bills rest peacefully until the day she will be resurrected with a new body and mind, where she will experience no pain or suffering and everyone will laugh and be together again.

Diana was always ready to help celebrate a birthday!

My deepest condolences to my cousin, Brent Bills, husband of Diana and to their children and grandchildren over their loss of Diana. 

I had the pleasure of sharing brief portions of time with Diana over the course of her marriage to my cousin Brent. 

I began to know Diana during weekly visits on Sabbath, to my family home, during Brent’s residency at WAH. 

We met again at a lovely family reunion one year at Yosemite National Park, Those times were more  than sufficiente  to experience the kind, gentle, Spirit that Diana was. 

Later during my life, she wrote caring notes to me while I lived far from home in Merida, Mexico. She was concerned when I had to spend time in the hospital for an ankle fracture and surgery. She wondered if I was scared  undergoing medical treatment in another country without yet knowing the language.  

She wrote to me several times about her firstborn’s developing voice (Randy, who is now a world class opera singer). She sent a CD of his senior recital, and notes about how pleased she knew I would be with his progress and ever growing success.  I was so delighted!

When computers became a household item, I suggested that the family have a monthly newsletter in which each of us could contribute recent happenings and photos. Of all the family members, Diana was the most enthusiastic about liking the idea and contributing. 

Diana’s  kindness extended to the way she approached topics that were occasionally sensitive such as religion and/or politics. She never shyed away from expressing her personal views, but always presented them with sincerity, grace and courtesy.

Finally, there were a time that she stepped in as a female guide, when I was 16, offering her wisdom regarding a feminine issue, not discussed with mom. 

Diana was a vision of so many divine traits.  Who she was will be missed. She was a role model for me.  And I will keep her memory in my heart with the highest regard.

Diana was like a sister to me -  technically my cousin's wife, but we shared raising our kids together (same ages), music, delicious meals ( she was an amazing cook), church friend gatherings, and wonderful times at their homes in Clovis and Chico.  Diana was the consummate hostess.  She asked the most interesting questions and trust me, she knew how to get the answers!  In the early years, in DC/ Takoma Park, I went to watch her teach one day - I was wondering how someone with such a soft voice got those first graders to pay attention - no worries, a flick of the light switch and she was in total control.  Over the years, our phone calls, the beautiful letters , cards and notes, were so treasured.   When those dwindled away in the last few years, I felt the loss.  Diana, you are and will be missed until we meet again!  Patty
