Dulce Maritza Herrera

Dulce Maritza Campos(Herrera) was born on October 9th, 1985 in Satelite, Mexico as the second child to Rafael Campos and Maria Campos. Dulce’s eldest brother Adolfo Campos was 11 months at her birth. Dulce lived in Mexico until the age of four when her family moved to South Gate, California. Dulce’s youngest brother Rafael Campos was born in 1992. The Campos family moved to Fontana in 1996. In 2002 Dulce met Jason Herrera. This same year Dulce also graduated high school from Fontana High. In 2003 on her 18th birthday; Jason and Dulce eloped and were married. At the age of 21 Dulce obtained her LVN from Concord Career College. Jason and Dulce welcomed three children, Jason Eduardo on June 23, 2007; Hector Elijah Herrera on June 11, 2010 and Priscilla Marie on July 13, 2012. She stayed home for several years dedicating herself to raising her children and caring for her home and husband. Once she returned to work, she worked as an LVN in various assisted living facilities. In 2019 ,Dulce began working at Pinon Hills Elementary School as a nurse. In 2020, she resigned her employment to begin working towards obtaining her RN degree at Azusa Pacific University. During this time she also worked as an LVN working in various assisted living facilities. On January 9, 2021, after fighting COVID for 3 weeks; Dulce passed on to be with our Heavenly Father.

Dulce was an example of strength for many. Dulce hated to see unjust actions. Her big heart always drove her to seek justice and give to those in need. Known as Candy to many, she always had words of encouragement to provide to anyone who needed it. Her fighting spirit made any challenge or obstacle seem minor. Her laughter and smile would fill any room she was in. An exemplary wife, mother, daughter, sister, leaves behind a gaping hole for many. There are many women on this earth but there will never be another Dulce Maritza Herrera. May she rest in the arms of our Lord.
