

Edward G. Ramirez died on November 30, 2012. Born on September 10, 1919 in Chamerino, New Mexico to Andres Ramirez and Inez Garcia Ramirez, Edward moved to Redlands, CA at a very early age with his parents.
While working in the farming industry, Edward met and married Annie Viramontes in Arizona on April 13, 1941. Edward and Annie settled into their home in Redlands and started their family. Edward and Annie had four children: Cecelia Ramirez (Wingate), Louis Ramirez, James Ramirez, and Martin Ramirez.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during World War II. While serving in the in the European campaign, Edward was wounded and returned to Redlands where he began working at Universal Rundle in Mentone, CA. Edward retired from Universal Rundle after serving in different capacities at the plant.
In 1988, Edward and Annie moved to Yucca Valley, CA to enjoy their retirement years.
Edward is preceded in death by his wife, Annie Ramirez. They were blessed to be married for one month shy of 63 years. Edward is also preceded in death by his children: Cecelia, Louis, and James. Edward had one living son, Martin Ramirez of Mentone and is survived by his sister, Esther Berumen of Biloxi, MS.
Edward had nine grandchildren: Louis Ramirez, Martina Ramirez (preceded in death on August 21, 2008), Jamie Ramirez of Beaumont, Joanna Stueckle of Yucca Valley, Connie Ozburn of Yucca Valley, Lisa Duarte of Grand Terrace, Alma Schwartz of Highland, Mellisa Ramirez-Tucker of Redlands, and James Ramirez, Jr. of San Bernardino. Edward is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 9, 2012 from Noon to 4 p.m. in the Montecito Laurelwood room. The service will be on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Montecito Valley View Chapel.
