Eleanor was born on February 21, 1936 to Amado and Valentina Maliglig in Manila, Philippines. She found her lifelong love when she married Thomas whom she had met while working at Clark Air Base in Angeles City, PI. After working at different military installations in the Philippines, military life took her to Victorville, CA then onto Rome, NY.
After several years stationed at Griffis AFB, she was onto the next big adventure; Wiesbaden, Germany. Living in Germany provided an opportunity of a lifetime – to travel and camp throughout Europe. Next stop afterward was to San Bernardino, CA which turned into her home from that point forward. After working at Norton AFB and the National Orange Show Sports Center, she preferred the role of homemaker instead and retired.
She had a love for classic movies, and was an avid visitor at celebrity gravesites. She also loved gardening, watching her hummingbirds as well as cooking her favorite Filipino dishes for her family. Her favorite activity though was spending time with her grandchildren.
Eleanor is survived by her husband of 47 and a half years, Thomas George Stamp, her daughters, Tracy Lynn (Stamp) Hickerson-Bush (Kenny Bush) of San Bernardino, CA, Karen Rose (Silvestre) Trichel of Rialto, CA, Rebecca Eleanor Padua of North Hollywood, CA, sons, Erwin David Silvestre of North Hollywood, CA and Joseph Michael Padua of Los Angeles, CA.
Eleanor also leaves behind Brothers, Liberato (Jing) Maliglig (Emma) of Burbank, CA, Armando (Butch) Maliglig (Dalisay) of Rialto, CA and Sister Andrea (Tuyi) Maliglig of Brooklyn, NY as well as a total of 6 grandchildren, Amber Alexis Hickerson, Andrew Thomas Hickerson, Jewell Jeniece Padua, Celine Rose Bermejo, David Michael Silvestre and Natalie Florence Emma Trichel and 4 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, Amado and Valentina Maliglig, sister Florence (Lepu) Maliglig and brother, Augusto (Boy) Maliglig.
