

Famous Rico Mc Elwee was born on October 26, 1970 in Los Angeles, California. He passed away after suffering a fatal work-related injury on October 27, 2013. He spent his early years in San Bernardino and later went to school in the Los Angeles area, returning to San Bernardino in the late 80's. He attended Fontana High School where he was involved in the football program and later attended Azusa High School where he played on the defensive line. He was through and through Raiders fan and tried to never mis a Notre Dame game. He was a fitness enthusiast and most days you could find him working out in the gym. Although he loved sports, he was a gifted musician and had a natural ear for music. He had eclectic taste in music. His taste spanned everything from classic Sinatra to classic rock. After high school he enrolled at Citrus College and studied Police Science. He also had an interest in the medical field and was certified as a radiology technician and a ultra sound technician. The roll he enjoyed most was ;his role as a Dad. The birth of Gabriel, born in 1998, was his greatest accomplishment. He loved going over football moves together and shared a mutual fanaticism for fishing. Famous was known for his great sense of humor and his contagious laughter. He was charismatic and seemed to have a knack for making people smile and feel good. His circle of friends was no less than 200 people with whom he kept in constant contact. Ever ready to help someone in need or to help someone stay out of trouble, he was a big and powerful man with a big heart to match. His antics and big hugs will be greatly missed. He is survived by his mother, Cheryl Vasquez, his son Gabriel Mc Elwee, grandparents, Lillian and Raymond Vasquez, aunt Michelle and uncle Michael, great uncle, Bernie Paredes, great aunts, Rosemarie Gutierrez, Rachel Newman, Lupe Calderilla and many cousins and extended family.
Visitation will held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, 5 - 9 pm, and Memorial service on Friday, November 15, 2013, 10 am, both at Montecito Valley View Chapel, 3520 E. St., Colton, CA.
