

Flavia Perez Cano, a resident of Highland, California, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2012. Flavia was born on April 5, 1934 in Colton, California to Gumercindo Perez and Lucina Yzaguirre Perez. Flavia was married on May 5, 1956 to Emilio Vejar Cano Jr. She and her husband raised their family in Rialto, California, and were long time members of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. Flavia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocational Education from California Statue University in San Bernardino. She was retired from the Rialto Unified School District, where she was employed as a Regional Occupational Program Instructor. Flavia is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Emilio V. Cano Jr., her four sons, Emilio (Anna) Cano, Daniel Cano, Manuel (Christine) Cano and Thomas (Patty) Cano. She is also survived by her sisters, Ida Gomez, Sally Avila, Christina Escarcega, Vera Perez, Mary Sanchez and Lucy Cervantes, as well as her two brothers Robert Perez and Benjamin Perez. Flavia will forever live in the hearts of her grandchildren, Kristy, Robyn, Trevin, Arianne, Camery, Dante, Mattison, Remy, Joseph and Juliana, and left a legacy of love for her great grandchildren Olivia, Ryan, Ashton and Kenyon. She was predeceased by her parents and son in law Michael Lowrie.
