June 3, 2015. He was born October 12, 1931,
in Ft. Smith, AR. He served in the U.S. Army,
from 1955-1957, later marrying Frederika Pauline
Grant in Rotterdam, Holland. He moved to Grand
Terrace in 1970, and worked in Corrections, until
retiring in 1997. Hugh served on the Grand Terrace
City Council from 1978-1992, including two terms as
Mayor from 82-87. He is a lifetime member of the
Lion's Club International, worked on the Grand
Jury and the San Bernardino County Board of
Supervisors. He loved to travel, both domestically
and abroad, enjoying the natural and historical
beauty of the world. As a proud American, he liked
politics and current events. He enjoyed all types of theatre,
including plays, musicals, the symphony and opera. He is
survived by his wife, Pauline, his daughter and his
two grand-children.
