John Joseph Langdon III met Our Heavenly Father on December 23rd, 2019 in Moreno Valley, California. He was 84 years old and a devout Roman Catholic. John was born November 20th, 1935 on a small farm in Blezard Valley near Sudbury, Ontario, Canada to Albert and Rosima (Nault) Langdon as the youngest of eight children. John lived in Blezard Valley, Southern California, Utah, and Hawai’i. He first immigrated to the United States when he moved to Anaheim, California at the age of 26. He married Gloria Jean Gueco on December 21st, 1974.
John was a lifelong entrepreneur. He apprenticed and became an electrician at age 21, later becoming a Master Electrician and was affiliated with the IBEW. He started an electrical contracting company in 1977, from which he retired in 1999. John also owned and operated a cleaning business from 1965-1999, and built a campground in Panguish, Utah in 1971. John had a record label with his best friend and opera singer Frederick St. Marseille in California. He operated the Friends Forever Cultural Exchange, which brought students from a Catholic school in Tahiti, French Polynesia to the US. In 2001, he was hired as the resident manager of Il Sorrento Adult Mobile Home Park, where he worked until his death.
John enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years, was an avid hockey fan, and enjoyed genealogy research. He also enjoyed traveling the world with his family. John was a regular presence at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Moreno Valley. He is survived by his wife Gloria Jean, and children John, Donna, Christine, Lisa, Doug, Derwin, and Richard, along with a multitude of grandchildren. He is also survived by his older sister Flossie.
His funeral will be held on January 9th, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Montecito Mortuary, Our Lady Queen of Peace at 3520 E Washington Street, Colton, California 92324. His burial will occur immediately following the service. A celebration of life will be held at Il Sorrento Adult Mobile Home Park on January 11th, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the clubhouse.
