

Juanita "Jenny" Hernandez passed away on January 18, 2020 surrounded by her family in Fontana, CA. Juanita was born November 21, 1935 in Miami, Arizona to Jose Gomez and Maria DeAnda Gomez. In 1942, when she was 7 years old the family moved to Rancho Cucamonga, CA. She graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario. Shortly after she met the love of her life Frank while working in Hemet, CA. They were both attending a "show" at the local movie theatre. They married in August 1956 and settled in Colton, CA from 1960 thru 1990, where they raised their children Joseph F. Hernandez Jr. and Geri Miller. In 1990 they built their dream home in Yucaipa, CA. Frank passed away in 2007. In 2014, Jenny moved to Fontana, CA to be closer to her children. Jenny is preceded in death by her husband Frank of 51 years, her parents and siblings Rafael, Walter, Joe, Lola and Mickey.
Jenny was very involved in her community in Colton as a member of the Colton's Jr. Women's Club donating her time to assisting in local events and charities. She was also very involved with her children's activities in music and sports. She and Frank often volunteered their home as a voting poll election site. She was strong in her Catholic faith and always generous to those in need locally and in Mexico. Jenny worked for many years at La Esperanza Market and Jay's Country Boy Market. Jenny and Frank later invested in a Restaurant Club catering business they co-owned from 1978 to 2006. She loved cooking, entertaining and hosting her family for many holidays and Mother's Day celebrations. She also enjoyed road trips and shopping.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Joseph (Sharon) Hernandez, Geri (Bud) Miller, grandchildren Iran (Romy) Miller, Ruben (Sarah) Mesa Jr., Zachary (Brittany) Miller and Alissa Miller, great grandchildren Kiani, Ty, Chase, Tyler, Mason, Alivia, Gage, Jett, Zayne, Maverick and Katherine, her siblings Mario, Tony, Ramon and Cora. She is also survived by numerous relatives, compadres and friends. Jenny "nannie" was incredibly loved by all who knew her. She will be immensely missed and left a beautiful mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
