Kim came into this world on a crisp and sunny day in November 1966 in Cincinnati, OH to Frank and Terry Coffey. Kim grew up in Redlands CA in a farmhouse built in the 1800’s amid orange groves and horses. She met the love of her life in grade school and they grew up together. In 1990 they married and honeymooned in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
Every single person that knew Kim will attest to her love of life. She was always up for anything, always ready for the next adventure. She was always ready to lend a hand with the dishes and could make you laugh while you were doing them.
Kim spent 20 years with Albertsons Grocery, working her way up from courtesy clerk, to cashier, then to bookkeeper. Her favorite part of the job was visiting with her regular customers and co-workers. After her diagnosis she decided a change was in order and pursued a career in real estate which gave her the perfect outlet to meet new people, and allowed her vivacious outgoing personality to shine.
Once she was free of punching a time clock every day she took to the open roads in her weekend warrior trailer, spending many days in Pismo Beach and Glamis, her trusty pup Gingy always by her side, and always trying to steal her nieces, Alyssa and Madison. So much that her sister dubbed her “the Kim-Napper”.
Kim was a sister, a wife, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, and niece. She fought hard for over 11 years, all the while through the ups and downs of treatments and medications remained simply Kimmy. So full of giant happy smiles, gentle love, and sharp wit.
Kim is survived by her husband James M. Scott, her brother Joseph (Terena) Coffey, her sister Autumn (Mike) Terriere, her step-mother Debbie Coffey, her nieces and nephews, Joey, Ashley, Justin, Alyssa, and Madison, and an extremely large extended family, and numerous close friends. She is pre-deceased by her mother, Teresa "Terry" (Moriarty) Coffey, her father Colston “Frank” Coffey, and her grand parents.
