

She was born in Nome, ND on November 21, 1921. Her parents were Clyde Herbert Parker and Ida (Kurtz) Parker. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul Richard Carter, M.D. (June 8, 2009), her parents, and her brothers Calvin Parker (1956) and James Parker (1969).
She attended Union College, Lincoln, NE where she met her future husband, Paul Richard Carter. She followed Paul to Southern California where they were married on December 24, 1944. They have two children, son Richard Brian Carter and daughter Janet Carol (Carter) Becker.
After their marriage Mrs. Carter and her husband Paul lived in Loma Linda, CA while he attended medical school. Later Mrs. Carter and her husband and two children lived in the Lincoln Heights section of Los Angeles, CA. In 1952, while Dr. Carter was serving in Korea with the U.S. Army, Mrs. Carter moved the family to Monterey Park, CA, where they lived until 1961. The family then moved to West Covina, CA where they lived until Dr. Carter retired in 1994. After retirement Dr. and Mrs. Carter moved to Indian Wells, CA and spent their summers in Missoula, MT. In 1999 they moved to Las Vegas, NV.
Mrs. Carter oversaw the medical office when Dr. Carter was in private practice. Throughout her life Mrs. Carter was an avid reader (especially mysteries), loved cross word puzzles, enjoyed listening to music (jazz and classical), taught needle point classes and enjoyed flower gardening. Dr. and Mrs. Carter traveled extensively throughout the world.
Mrs. Carter was proceeded in death by her husband Paul and is survived by her children Richard and Janet; daughter-in-law Sandra (Salazar) Carter, two grand children Marisa (Carter) Sapienza and Thomas Carter, Marisa’s husband David Sapienza; three great grandchildren Maia, Dylan and Mason Sapienza.
