Luther J. Johns, born June 29, 1945 passed away September 12, 2023 in Colton, California. Luther was born in Bossier City, Louisiana to parents of Sallie M. Stevenson and Gillian Johns. He went to Butler Elementary in Elm Grove, Louisiana and Redmond Spikes High School, in Elm Grove, Louisiana. He graduated in 1965, came to California in 1965. He worked in many jobs; worked at Mattel, Ellis & Vans for almost forty years. He was drafted for military duty in the Army. Served from 1968-1971 in Vietnam. Luther came out of the army, went back to Ellis & Van and worked some more years. He got married to his sweetheart, Jurlene A Frazier in September 18, 1971. Two sons were born from the marriage, Delon Johns and Reginald Johns. After his job closed down, he became self-employed. He loved basketball, football, playing dominos, and other sports. He departed this world on September 12, 2023 in the morning. He leaves behind two sisters, Mattie M. Churchill of Louisiana and Annie Lee St Romain of Alaska, and three brothers, Art Stevenson (Diana), Sam Johns, and Gillian Jr, and a host of relatives.
