

Maria C. Ramirez was born on April 14, 1920 in La Villita municipality of Ameca Jalisco Mexico. She lived with her grandparents, her mother Trinida and sister chepita. She got married at the age of 16 years of age with Antonio Ramos and the couple had four children that only 3 lived Faustino, Jose Angel and Maria Luisa. She soon started to show leadership helping people where one began as recording secretary and thus forming the board. To fight against the landowners that would take over of all lands and so began the struggle for community of local farmers and sorrounding farmers. Achieving to grant them their land to work them, thanks to their fight the Governor present in Lazaro Cardenas he granted them their land to each farmer.
Being a widow at 27 years migrated to Tijuana in the year 1948, wanting her children to have a better life.In Tijuana reaching first job was at a tortilla factory. She met Francisco Madrid in that relationship she had 6 children that only 4 lived, which are Leonardo, Carmela, Francisco and Norma. Sometime later she separated from her partner and focused on her children and work .
Years later she met with Guadalupe Ramirez who she had no more family with, because in year 1991 was widowed.
Later in the year 1960 belonged to a liberal organization Francisco Imadero name, which that was her iniciation to the political life and joined PRI. In the year 1963 she worked as a honorary social worker, always at the service for the community or whom was in need.where she was able of getting medical service, medicine, food and shelter, and more. Where she was a leader of a large group of people where they had fought for decent housing. Thus forming the colony defenders of Baja California. Inhabitants' wanted to name a colony after Maria Camacho and she refused. So earning her place as a alternate councilor in the government of president Bolanos Cacho, in which she refused to get any salary because all she wanted to do was help anyone in need without getting anything in return. She live at the Colonia del Rio,her home was modest which proved that she never took advantage of her position or influence.
And in the year 1965-66 she requested to the government of the president Echeverria a technological institute to Tijuana which ended been constructed at the request of her.
Years later she initiated in masonry where she reached highest grade level 33 of the Mexican Masonry. Where was always requested to give Masonic conferences. Even though her school education was to only first grade that was no reason to not move forward, she always read every book that she could.
Maria was a fighter, full of life ,hard working, and loved mariachi music and dance danzons. Reading was one of her passions. She loved weaving and she had much love to all the family loved her children with all her heart, loved a united family.
