Minnie had a very hard childhood growing up as she was one of 16 children, her family was very poor, but they had each other and their faith to lean on in these hard times. After completing 8th grade she was needed in the fields to help her family pick whatever crop was in season and ready to be harvested. This was Minnie’s life until she met Donald Howard Jones.
Minnie and Donald married on August 5,1954 at the age of 18. They met in the cotton fields of Central California, when Donald fell in love with her at first sight but Minnie wasn’t so keen on him but he told her she will love him which she did finally and so they married until May 11, 2002, when Donald passed from Coronary Artery Disease.
In 2004 Minnie then moved to Central Oregon to start a new chapter in her life and be near her some of her children and enjoyed sitting out and watching the deer come onto her property. In left Oregon in 2021 and moved to Cedar Edge, CO to be near her surviving siblings. From there he health deteriorated, and the high elevation was affecting her daughter Donna moved her to Winter haven, Florida where she lived out her remaining days.
Minnie was a vibrant sole who didn’t need much. She loved to have her family around, especially on the holidays. She knitted, she sewed, she was a woman who understood the hardships of life but never let it bring her spirits down. She was devout in her faith in God and is now with him and Donald in God’s kingdom, may she forever be remembered.
