He was born on February 5, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents Norman Edward Sebern Sr. and Amy E. Sebern (nee Crise). Ed arrived in San Bernardino in February of 1946 with his family and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1954. He dedicated his life to public service, his country, and his family. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1958. After his discharge he served as a Police Officer for the City of Colton, from 1961 until his retirement as a Sergeant in 1989.
In February of 1960, Ed married Judith I France, and had two children, Timothy Scott and Rebecca Lynn. They later divorced and Ed met the love of his life, Jean K. Koester with whom he recently celebrated their 49th wedding Anniversary. Jean’s son, Russell Adamson, was his loved son, also.
Ed enjoyed his family, the outdoors, working on cars and trucks, volunteering as a host at various Oregon State Parks and was a member of the Yucaipa Valley Amateur Ham Radio Club. He was also a volunteer for the Community Emergency Response Team.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Amy, his father, Norman Sr. and his son, Timothy Scott (Schutt).
He is survived by and will forever be remembered by his wife Jean Sebern (nee Koester), Daughter Becky Hejka (Schutt)(Mike), Son Russ Adamson (Dana), Sister Patty Dickson (Jack), a Niece and Nephew, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He will be remembered fondly by his extended family and dear friends.
