

Otilio Cruz (Papa Tilio), Isabel Cruz (madre), Ever (hermano), Policarpio (hermano) y Melitón (hermano),se mudaron a la Ciudad de México cuando el tenía 15 años. Cinco años después, Otilio conoció al gran amor de su vida, Julia Castellanos. Otilio y Julia se enamoraron, después se casaron y decidieron tener hijos y formar una hermosa familia. Papá Tilio y Julia llamaron a sus hijos Guadalupe Alberto Cruz, Luis Manuel Cruz, Lorena Joaquina Cruz, Gerardo Fernando Cruz, Sandra Elizabeth Cruz y Janet Carina Cruz. Durante su vida Otilio disfruto viajar para ir a ver a su familia, le gustaba nadar, jugar básquetbol, ver peleas de boxeo, ver películas de Cantinflas, y ver a El Chavo del Ocho. Otilio tenía un gran sentido del humor y le encantaba hacer bromas. Una de las grandes pasiones de Otilio era el fútbol y su equipo favorito, Las Águilas del América. Otilio siempre enseñó a toda su familia a ser trabajadora, honesta, responsable, fuerte, noble, generosa y humilde. Otilio también enseñó a sus hijos a tener a Dios y a la Virgen María presentes, ante todo. Una de las muchas cosas que distinguían a Otilio era su amor por vestirse con sus elegantes trajes vaqueros. Su música favorita era los “Bravos del Norte” (Cornelio Reyna y Ramón Ayala), que disfrutaba bailando con su amada esposa. Una de sus canciones favoritas, interpretada por Ramón Ayala, era "Mi Piquito de Oro", que inspiró su apodo a su hija menor “Pico”. Otilio era muy cariñoso con sus nietos, y ellos lo conocían como “Papá Tilio”. Otilio siempre fue muy generoso con su familia, esto incluía a sus hermanos, sobrinos, ahijados, nietos, bisnietos y amigos; a cuáles quería mucho. Siempre te llevaremos en nuestros corazones para recordarte y admirarte por siempre. Descansa en paz Papá Tilio, te amamos!

Otilio Cruz Madrigal, was born September 6, 1944, in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Otilio Cruz (Papa Tilio), Isabel Cruz (mother), Ever (brother), Policarpio (brother), and Meliton (brother),
moved to Mexico City when he was 15 years old. Five years later, Otilio met the great love of his life, Julia Castellanos. Otilio fell in love with Julia, they got married and decided to have children and form a beautiful family. Otilio and Julia named their children Guadalupe Alberto Cruz, Luis Manuel Cruz, Lorena Joaquina Cruz, Gerardo Fernando Cruz, Sandra Elizabeth Cruz, and Janet Carina Cruz. Throughout his life Otilio enjoyed traveling to visit family, swimming, playing basketball, boxing matches, movies by Cantinflas, and El Chavo del Ocho. Papa Tilio had an enthusiastic sense of humor and loved making jokes. One of Otilio's greatest passions was soccer and his favorite team, Las Aguilas del América. Otilio always taught all his family to be hardworking, honest, responsible, strong, noble, generous, and humble. Otilio also taught his kids to have God and the Virgin Mary present before everything. One of the many things that made Otilio unique was his love for dressing up in his most elegant cowboy suits. His favorite music was the “Bravos del Norte” (Cornelio Reyna and Ramón Ayala), which he enjoyed dancing to with his beloved wife. One of his favorite songs, performed by Ramón Ayala, was "Mi Piquito de Oro." Which inspired his nickname to his youngest daughter “Pico”. Otilio was very affectionate with his grandchildren, and they all knew him as “Papa Tilio”. Otilio was always very generous with his family, this included his siblings, nieces, nephews, godchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends; all of whom he loved very much. We will always keep you in our hearts to remember and admire you. Rest in peace Papa Tilio, we love you!
