Our beloved, Philip David Enos, passed away suddenly on December 22, 2018 at the age of 37. Philip was born on October 21, 1981 in San Bernardino, California, to David Enos and Sandra Enos (Shinault). Philip will be forever remembered by his parents, his brothers and sisters, Gary, Tara, Genevieve, Chantel, Oren, William, and Amber, his grandparents, Carolyn Shinault, Juanita Smith, and David Enos Sr., and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Philip is preceded in death by his grandfather, William Shinault, his uncle, Steve Shinault, and all of his great-grandparents.
Philip was a man that could build or repair anything. He was a plumber by trade, but was also skilled in carpentry, laying tile, painting, landscaping, and masonry. Philip was always willing and able to lend a hand to his family and friends with any household task, whatever it may have been. He took pride in helping his mother and father with many of their home improvement projects.
Philip enjoyed sports, whether he was watching or participating. When he was young, he was a star football and baseball player alongside his cousins. At 12 years old, he batted 4 homeruns in one game, impressing his big brother who had never seen that done before. As a Dallas Cowboys fan, Philip enjoyed Sunday football barbeques with his family and liked organizing everyone’s picks for the football pool. Even as an adult he loved to play soccer in his mother’s front yard and hit the basketball courts with his brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Philip enjoyed the peace of days fishing at the lake with his family and friends. He also liked playing dominos on the patio and was a great Texas Hold ‘Em poker player who was often one of the last to be seated during tournaments. Even when his poker chips were low, he would remind others that all he needed was “a chip and a chair”.
Philip took pleasure in cooking for his family and friends. Some of his favorite dishes were carne asada tacos off the grill, authentic fish tacos, and, of course, the family’s legendary Portuguese rice recipe that was handed down from past generations.
Philip loved and was loved by all who knew him. The love he had for his mother and father was immeasurable. He cared deeply for his brothers and sisters and wanted the best for them. He preciously cared for his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. The love he had for his family and friends carries on through memories. He is greatly missed, and the world is different without his presence.
