Robert Earl Huckleby, Jr. was born April 5, 1982 in Compton, California to the loving parents of Sonia O. Daniel and Robert E. Huckleby, Sr. Robert Jr passed very suddenly on May 4, 2015.
Robert committed his life to Christ at a very early age at Christ Christian Home MBC, Compton, California under the leadership of Reverend Houston Buggs. The current Pastor is Reverend George B. Denton. He was a faithful member of the Youth Usher Board. He was currently attending Centerpoint Church in Colton with his family under the leadership of Pastor Dane Aaker.
Robert received his elementary education at Tower of Faith Christian Academy, Compton, California. He continued, his education in the Colton Unified School District. He graduated from Colton High School in 2000. He had a “true love” for the game of football and basketball. As a youth, he played for the Bellflower Broncos Football team and San Bernardino Bears Football team, Grand Terrace Youth Basketball and the NJB Basketball league. During his tenure at Colton High School, he excelled in football and basketball. Robert went on to play college football at San Bernardino Valley College and Central Methodist College, Fayette, Missouri.
After college, Robert returned home and became employed at Fed Ex . Additionally, he worked for Moving forward Adult Development. While employed he played for Take It to the House Football team and the California Raiders. For the last 12 years he had been employed by Inland Football Official Association and the California Basketball Official Association as an Umpire/Referee.
Robert is survived by his mother, Sonia Daniel and father Robert E. Huckleby, Sr; his “soul mate” Amanda Denise Mercado and their three children: Renae Elise, Raylynn Ebony, and Robert Earl Huckleby, III. His maternal grandmother, Rosemary Daniel Rogers; his sisters: Theresa, LaTreece, Tamicka, LeMea Huckleby, and Kenya (Marcel) Hunt. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; Daniel and Anna Tovar, Gabriel Mercado and family, Jaurigue family and godmothers, Linda Dyess and Antionette Lewis. Robert was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mentha and Samuel Huckleby; maternal grandfather, Garfield Daniel and uncle Eric Daniel.
Viewing will be held from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Christ Christian Home MBC, 1728 E. Compton Blvd., Compton, CA. Church service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 29, 2015 at Centerpoint Church, 170 W. F Street, Colton, CA. Robert will be laid to rest following the church service at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washingon Street, Colton, CA.
