ROBERT " BOB " KOCUREK
Bob was born in Rowena TX 12/17/1916 to John and Mary Kocurek, he was the oldest of 9 children. He left school in the 7th grade to work his Family’s Farm full time, and to help raise his siblings. He later joined the Air Force Civil Service where he worked for 24 years. First being stationed in Hawaii then Norton AFB working in the Missile Maintenance Management field. His love for electronics led him to working on TV's at his home in the spare time. After his retirement from the Civil Service he went onto fulfilling his life long dream of owning his own business and formed DEL ROSA TV & APPLANCES. After his second retirement he went to work for Riverside Auto Auction for over a decade as the maintenance supervisor. Bob had a deep respect for all people and God's creatures. After joining the Knights of Columbus #905 where he held numerous positions including Grand Knight twice, he enjoyed the time spent with his fellow brothers and interacting with the people coming to the Hall's cook-outs, bingo and other events. He was an avid Gardner who truly loved sharing his bounties with friends, family and the needy. He was a Jack-of-all-Trades and helped design and build a new home for his growing family. He used to say "I can fix anything but a broken heart, that I can only mend" He led a full and wonderful life, loving to make people laugh by telling a joke. His passing will leave a big void in this world that will never be replaced. In his earlier years when traveling the world, his most proud trip was when he went to Israel with his best friend Jim and walked where Jesus walked. This "one" trip made him proud and also humble. Bob passed away in his home at the age of 95 on 7/16/2012 of natural causes, and was a resident of San Bernardino since 1949. He leaves behind his 5 children, Trish Whittaker of San Bernardino CA, Rob Kocurek of Corinth MS, Jeff Kocurek of Wichita Falls TX, Lori Murphy of Riverside CA, and Ron Kocurek of San Bernardino CA. Sisters Lillie Bledsoe of Angleton, TX, & Mary Young of Poteet TX, and a brother Albert Kocurek of Lodi, CA. As well as 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
