He was two months early and sideways in his mother’s belly. Stace didn’t want to miss the party. It was June 20, 1993 and Tiffany and Andrew were supposed to spend their Father’s Day getting showered with gifts for their soon to come new baby. But by 9:34 p.m. Stace came into the world already, as his mother says, doing too much!
Born at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, California, Stace’s entry into the world set the tone for a fun-filled life that was marked by his beaming smile. He is Aunt Nikki’s “Lump of Gold”, Aunt Crystal’s “Pookie” and Deana’s “Light Bright”, He is his dad’s biggest fan, the best big brother there is and just simply his mother’s baby. Stace grew up with a loving family and friends who were like family, and a love for sports that came naturally. Even his birth was a trifecta: Happy Father’s Day, The Chicago Bulls won the championship and Stace was born! That’s right again doing too much! Stace loved music and tennis shoes and sports in general but was not only a fan. Andrew could see early in Stace’s life that he had talent, so he started playing Pop Warner Football while going to Cucamonga Elementary School. With his mother’s love and watchful eye and his father’s guidance he eventually became a center fielder in baseball and a cornerback in football. He continued playing throughout his education at Upland High and beyond there at Citrus College.
With Sports as the backdrop Stace became the guy his friends would say is going to have everyone laughing, the guy who takes time to kick it with his little brother, and all the while the same guy trying to figure out life for himself. No matter where life’s journey took him he managed to make the people he cares about smile. He loved all kinds of music, good company and an adventure, making him a fun big brother and a great friend.
Compassionate, strong, smart and a team player, Stace lived the ethics he learned while playing sports. He lived his life the same way he played: enjoy the game, play hard for your team and do what you’re supposed to do well. Today we celebrate his life because he did that well. He brought bright life, love and joy to us all, and we love him for it. Thank you Stace.
Many family members and friends helped him become the man we will all miss. His ancestors before him include his grandparents Alma Jr. and Marjorie Allen, Grandfather James Woodward and Aunt Angela Woodward. Stace’s surviving family members are, parents Tiffany & Andrew Woodward; brothers Terrance & Bryce Woodward; grandmother Delois Woodward; Uncles Anthony Woodward, Alfred Thomas, LaBrandon Thomas; aunts Nicole Alexander, Crystal Wallace, Betty Johnson, AJ Dendy, Adrianne Woodward, Carrie Woodward; cousins Amber Evans, Raymond Evans, Ebony Jones, Ernest Wallace, Vallon Wallace, William Wallace, Sydney Jones, Antoinette Woodward, Vanessa Woodward & Aaron Woodward. Along with a host of cousins, great aunts and uncles and a host of teammates and friends.
